HOW TO HAVE A FULL TIME JOB AND RUN A BLOG

I know full well I'm not alone in  the struggle of working full time, running a blog and also trying to have a life but there are a few things I have learnt that have helped me out big time and today I'm sharing them with you lovely bunch.

Scheduling posts: I know I always mention this but scheduling posts is literally my biggest life saver. Sometimes on my day off I go blogging mad and write up 5/6 posts and schedule them for the following 2 weeks and it saves me the worry of having no content to post.

Hootsuite: My job is one of those where I can start as early as 6am or finish as late as 2am, there's no knowing when/if I will get the chance for a break which means I never have the time to promote my posts via Twitter. Hootsuite is a platform that I think has been around for a while but I've never used until recently. If you know when your posts are going live you can schedule twees for around the same time, or during busy times of  the day to promote your page even when you're not at your phone/computer. I was a bit skeptical that the tweets I was posting would sound too generic but most the time I forget they have been scheduled and start to think I wrote them live - I'm sure no one else can tell the difference either.

Always be marketing: It's simple. You never know who you might start chatting to at work, so make sure you are proud of your work and you leave a memorable impression. I invested in some business cards the other day and its the best decision I've made. I've had to travel quite a bit with work recently and I've mentioned my blog to so many people but never had anything to give them to remember me by. It's worth the investment I promise, I got mine from Vistaprint.

Other people feel the same: I moved out of my family home last September and into a house with my best friend in Hull and it didn't take long to feel isolated from all my friends back in my home town even though its only 10 miles away. However I got chatting to a couple of local bloggers and was invited to a meet up and its only got better since then. I've met and I am yet to meet some lovely bloggers that live so close to me. It's nice to be able to attend events on my days off and it feels like the hard work is really worth it.

Emails: I cant even stress how important this is. I rarely get the chance to check my emails at work, and sometimes 2 or 3 days have gone by without any attention. Email is the main way brands will connect with bloggers and it can look quite bad if you take forever to reply and they may think you are uninterested in what they are offering. I always mention my full time job when responding to brand emails and they all seem to be understanding.

If you have any more tips for working full time and running a blog let me know in the comments. If you're not already go follow me on Instagram I'm constantly looking for new people to follow!

A NIGHT WITH ARBONNE

The other night I was kindly invited to an Arbonne evening at my good friend Emma's house. The night consisted of Laura introducing us to the brand, giving us demonstrations and just generally having a lovely girly night with probably too many crisps and carrot sticks consumed..

It was so interesting hearing about all the nasty ingredients that Arbonne are completely against putting in their products and how they have the same policy when it comes to their cosmetic range too. I absolutely loved the foundation and concealer however my bank balance wouldn't allow me to go too crazy so I settled with a well needed FC5 Foot Creme which felt so luxurious I cant wait for it to arrive so I can start prepping my feet for Spring/Summer sandals.

I'm looking into hosting my own Arbonne night with a few friends and family to try out some more products and it gives me an excuse to spend money on skincare and make up! A big thank you again to Laura for holding such a lovely event.

Head over to my Instagram for more pictures of this night and upcoming events!

A HEALTHY DECISION

It wasn't until about a month ago that I decided it was time to steer away from the matte finish foundations and head towards something more radiant for Spring/Summer. So I asked my fellow bloggers on Twitter if they could suggest some products and the main response was this and Nars Sheer Glow foundation. But with my nearest Nars store over an HOUR away, I didn't want to order online incase I chose the wrong colour.

So for a mere £9.99 I picked up the Bourjois Healthy Mix for a fraction of the price of Sheer Glow and trust me I haven't been disappointed. It's medium coverage is just right for my skin and the shade is absolutely perfect, apart from the fact it only lasts about 5 hours even with powder. However, I've mentioned to a couple of family members that I would like some Nars gift vouchers for my birthday so I can finally go pick up Sheer Glow but until then this will definitely do the job.

SEEING DUO

Well, well, well.. What do we have here? Maybe the highest quality, comfiest pair of shoes I have ever owned. These suede ankle boots from Duoare an absolute breath of fresh air to my shoe collection. I don't remember the last pair of shoes I got that aren't black so these have come right in time to start building my Spring wardrobe.

One thing that comes with being tall is having big feet, and at a UK size 8 (cry) I always struggle to find shoes that I like that won't fall apart in 10 minutes. When I asked if these came in a size 8 I was so surprised that they could cater for me and my big flippers!

There are shoes for all occasions on the website, and I've been eyeing up a couple of pairs for work as well as some more similar to this - I just can't help myself.. (not sorry) I wish I could've posted these as an OOTD but the weather in the North is so bad at the minute so you'll have to keep an eye out for future posts.

MY SECRET POSSESSION

I've seen a tonne of lingerie posts flying around the blogger community recently, everything from slinky nightwear, delicate triangle bras and everyday basics. Since I've become recently single I've noticed my underwear draw has had a new lease of life. There's just something so satisfying about having a set that makes you really feel good about yourself.

I absolutely adore the un-padded lace bras that are in all the shops at the moment but because of work they're just totally impractical. And that's where this gorgeous Primark set steps in. It's flattering, good quality and can even be made into a strapless bra aaaaand I got it in black, obviously. It gives the right amount of support and the lace detailing is unnoticeable through my work clothes - winner!

MANGO MADNESS

It wasn't until last week that I first visited the Mango website... Shameful I know - but they where never a brand I thought to try when browsing for clothes. I was recommended by a friend when I was on the hunt for some shoes and stumbled on their incredible range of high quality pieces. Here's just a few of the bits I'm drooling over at the moment. If you haven't been on their website before go and have a nosey, there's something for everyone on there. Also if you stop by My Voucher Codes there are a couple of discounts you can get your hands on to save some pennies!

I've loved blogging this year and I want to keep positing varied content. If you have any posts you'd like to see more of just pop them in the comments and I'll do my best. Don't forget to leave links to your blogs too - I'm on the hunt for new people to follow.

BIMUNO

Today's post is a little different from usual. After a solid 2 months of madness at work I've completely neglected my health and run myself down - so it was a miracle when I was contacted by the people at Bimuno to see if I wanted to try one of their products - Immunaid*.  By taking two a day, these chewable pastilles are meant to help keep your immune system fit and healthy

My first impression was that they where orange and reminded me of the chewy vitamins I used to have as a child but unfortunately they don't have much taste. This might be great for some however I would have preferred them to be slightly fruity. I've been taking these twice a day for the past week and I haven't noticed huge changes however I don't seem to be as sniffly as I have been throughout winter, also I'm not as hungry in the afternoon when I take these with my breakfast. Has anyone else noticed this or am I just odd?

Have you tried Bimuno before or anything similar?

THIS YEAR SO FAR

Last year I promised myself I would make more plans this year so the months wouldn't slip by like they did in 2014. With that said, this year has been an absolute whirlwind. January saw me working with/visiting a friend in Sheffield, my workplace having a £300,000 refurbishment, one of my best friends 1920's themed parties. And in February was my companies awards night at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, the birth of my niece and I finally upgraded my phone to the iPhone 6.

I've been constantly exhausted but it has all been so worth it. There are so many more things to come in the next few months and I can't wait! The opportunity to work with more brands has been super exciting and it's my 21st birthday in April.

How has your year been so far?

BASIC LUSTING

Am I the only one that is completely obsessed with ASOS at the minute? A couple of months ago there was nothing I liked but since Christmas I need everything on the website! I'm trying to turn around my wardrobe with more simplistic pieces that I can mix and match and these are just a few that are currently sat in my wishlist. Have you added any to your basket?

The 2nd of February saw the night of my 2015 company awards and with that came plenty of great food and well deserved Prosecco - as a team we picked up a couple of awards and had an amazing night.

Thanks to the fabulous people over at @festivalbooth we were lucky enough to have a photo booth with plenty of props and they printed them out then and there for us! Head over to their Twitter to see what they have to offer. They're also giving my readers 20% off all booths, just send them an email to info@confettibooth.co.uk with the subject "Styleaked Discount" with your enquiry.

A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

Does anyone else's skin sometimes just give up and decide its not going to play the game anymore? I had a great routine with the Clinique moisturiser up until about 2 weeks ago when it really just wasn't cutting it and my skin was feeling dull and gross. That's when the super affordable Garnier Moisture Match came into my life. It has a thick texture and you can really feel it hydrating your skin. It sinks in within a minute and you can apply primer or make up straight on top. If you buy one thing this month let it be this moisturiser!
